It appears that the haori has been dyed with traditional Japanese indigo dye. When used in large quantities, this dye effectively becomes black.
A~B - The fabric has been cleaned and dyed, and it looks like either some of the old stains are just barely visible or there's some slight color differentiation from the dyeing process. ` (Outside)
